A string quartet is the safest act on this list and the one most often used badly. Placed on a stage during a drinks reception, it becomes wallpaper. Placed correctly, it does something no playlist can: it makes a room feel expensive within thirty seconds of the doors opening.
We book them three ways. On stage, as a set piece for arrivals or an awards opening. Roaming between tables during dinner service, quieter, closer, and far more memorable than the same four musicians in a corner. And alongside other artists: with a vocalist, with a DJ for a hybrid classical-electronic set, or as the acoustic half of a show that builds into something louder.
Repertoire is agreed with you in advance and can run from standard classical through to contemporary arrangements of the tracks your audience actually knows, which, for a corporate audience, is usually the version that lands.
